WordCamps are all about learning all things WordPress. WordCamps are held in cities all over the world and the ones closest to you are broadcasted to you in your WordPress dashboard. I have been to several WordCamps and they are amazing. There are so many good topics to choose from, most of the time you have to pick a buddy (or two) and divide and conquer. Meaning – split up, go to sessions, then get back together and fill each other in on what you learned. Then there’s always wordpress.tv which broadcasts many of the talks.
But, it gets even better! The networking! You’ll have the opportunity to meet amazing people at a WordCamp. People are friendly, and the community is rich with super smart folks who are easy to approach and pick their brains. There’s usually at least one social event baked in and, all in all – it’s a great experience. You’ll get back to your office energized and ready to take on new WordPress challenges.
I am excited to have been chosen as a speaker this year. I’ll be giving a talk on WordPress Security. I’ll take you on a journey way past which plugins to use. If you decide to come, (and I HOPE you do) I’ll share some of my 10 years of WordPress security experience stories to keep you (and your clients) safe (and not working overtime on Thanksgiving fixing a hacked site), ask me how I know!
If you see me, please come up and say hi! I love sharing knowledge and I certainly would love to hear your story. See you there!
